How to Fly Around the World for Free!

by Matt 2 Comments

(This post is now being updated)

Being able to fly around the world for almost free has been truly life-changing. How in the world would I have been able to get on a $15,000 one-way flight with my own suite and on-board shower if it wasn’t for learning how to master the world frequent flyer miles? Instead of $15,000, the flight was $89 plus points. I’ve also flown around the entire world in business class, along with my wife who enjoyed the added comfort and pampering.

This is not some scheme. It’s called travel hacking and it’s the simple art of mastering the frequent flyer mile industry. If you learn the tips, tricks, strategies involved in becoming a pro travel hacker, you will be flying around the world for next to nothing. Guaranteed. All you have to do is learn the steps and then make it a priority. I have a number of articles that are free for you to read.

Sheraton Vancouver
View from the Balcony of the 4-star Sheraton in Downtown Vancouver. Just $80 CAD!

If you want to take it more seriously, I also offer some paid courses, offering you 10-100x the value of what you’ll pay. If you’re Canadian, you’ll want to check out CanadianFreeFlyers.com, which is specifically designed for Canucks. You’ll learn everything you need to know to start earning hundreds of thousands of miles each and every year and how to redeem them for world trips. If you’re not Canadian, I recommend my other course Zero to Dream Trip (www.Zerotodreamtrip.com), which teaches the same things but focused more on American deals. Whichever course you choose, you’ll be able to make your dream trips happen for a fraction of the price, each and every year.

Talk to you soon,

Happy Travels,

Matt

Surfing in Canada & the Beauty of the West Coast

by Matt 3 Comments

Have you ever searched around your own city or town to see what adventures you could hit up? I always seem to overlook the possibility of adventure near my own city. I realized this when I was in New Zealand last year. I was hiking some of the mountains on the south island when someone asked me where I was from. When I told them I was from Calgary, which is about 1 hour from the Rocky Mountains, they immediately asked how the hikes were and how great the skiing was. I couldn’t even answer. I had never hiked the Rockies. I had lived in Calgary for about 6 years and had never hiked the rockies. I had only skied a couple times but never at one of the famous resorts. “What was I doing?” I thought to myself. I’m all the way across the world conquering countries when I haven’t even conquered my own yet. I decided that as soon as I returned, I would hike at least one trail before the end of the summer and I would try the 2 famous ski resorts closest to me in the winter. I did! And since then I have been trying to experience all that Canada (especially the west coast) has to offer. [Read more…] about Surfing in Canada & the Beauty of the West Coast

A new vision for the blog & an interview with Matt Koenig of Matt Koenig photography

by Matt 5 Comments

As for the vision for the blog, I have decided to focus more on what I am good at: Adventure and trying new things. After talking to many people about my passions and things I have already accomplished, I have been told that turning myself from a shy conserved person into a thrill seeking, world traveling, throw myself into uncomfortable situations kind of person is what interests people the most. They also ask me how I did it which made me realize other people like me are out there and looking for help to get more adventure into their lives. That’s where I come in and that’s where A World of Inspiration comes in. I changed the “About” section to reflect this. I hope you all still enjoy it and follow me. The type of posts will still be inspirational and won’t differ to much from what they have been.

So on we go!

A few months ago, I came across a site called www.mattkoenigphotography.com. After contacting him, I found out that he is working a work time job but trying to turn his passion for photography into a full-time business. Matt has some great values and I love that he is trying to make a go out of his passion rather than conforming to daily job routine. He also has a wife and kids which makes it even more challenging. That’s what life is about though. Challenging yourselves to constantly improve your situation whether increasing cash flow, quality of life, or anything else you feel needs to be improved.

Matt and I did an interview about his quest for a location independent lifestyle developed around his passion. Check it out! [Read more…] about A new vision for the blog & an interview with Matt Koenig of Matt Koenig photography

Last week I made my first trip to Las Vegas. The city had never really been a magnet for reeling me in but when a best friend brings it up and we find flight and hotel deals for $200, I can’t pass it up.

It was a hot and dry night when we arrived in Vegas. Amazing night temperature and a strip full of lights. We checked in to the Excalibur hotel and immediately headed out to enjoy the night.

The next morning we joined a few others who had flown down and headed to the mall at Mandalay Bay. Next thing I know, I find myself in a Peter Lik art gallery. [Read more…] about Inspired by photography

Finding your past: How one conversation led me to citizenship in 27 countries

by Matt 1 Comment

Have you ever thought about where you came from? Not where you were born but where your parents, your grandparents, your great grandparents, and so forth came from? It’s quite inspiring and amazing to hear the stories that our ancestors went through. If your from North America, then it’s practically guaranteed that your ancestors came from places in  Europe, Africa, or Asia. Maybe they came from tribes in South America. Doesn’t it inspire you to look? Find out if they were of royal blood or if they were rebels. Find out the travels and tribulations that eventually led to you being born where you were. Here’s my recent story.

Scuba Diving – Another World of Inspiration and a place to build confidence

by Matt 7 Comments

If you ever have the chance to try scuba diving, do it!  It is one of the most amazing and memorable things you will ever do.

I did this back in April 2009 when I was right in the middle of my 6 month backpacking trip throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Initially, I had no desire to scuba dive as I was quite nervous but definitely wanted to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef.

I was with my cousin Jeff at the time and we were looking at different day tours that would allow us to snorkel the reef. Luckily, one of them included a free 20 minute intro to scuba diving course. I’m so happy we came across this tour because this intro opened me up to the deep water world. I’m also lucky it was introduced to me on this trip because this was the one trip that opened me up to extreme [Read more…] about Scuba Diving – Another World of Inspiration and a place to build confidence
